Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the serial number on a Rolex?
On models before 2005, it is engraved between the lugs at 6 o'clock — the bracelet must be removed. From 2005–2008, it appears both between the lugs and on the rehaut. From 2008 onward, it is on the rehaut only, visible without removing the bracelet.
How do I find out what year my Rolex was made?
Use the lookup tool at the top of this page or refer to the serial number chart. For watches made after 2010 with randomized serials, the year can only be confirmed from the warranty card or by a dealer. EUROWATCH OC in Newport Beach can date your Rolex for free — call 949-994-0114.
Are Rolex serial numbers unique?
Yes. Every Rolex ever produced has a unique serial number. No two watches share the same serial, making it the primary tool for identifying, dating, and authenticating a Rolex.
Can I verify if my Rolex is real by the serial number?
The serial number alone cannot confirm authenticity — sophisticated counterfeits may copy real serial numbers. A missing serial, poor engraving, or a mismatch between serial and model are red flags. Professional authentication is the only reliable method. EUROWATCH OC offers expert authentication — call 949-994-0114.
What is my Rolex worth?
Value depends on model, reference, year, condition, dial variant, and box & papers status. The serial number helps determine the production year, which is one factor. For a free valuation, visit EUROWATCH OC at 3388 Via Lido Ave, Newport Beach, or call 949-994-0114.
